    New 2006 prospect: Kristen Phillips

Purdue is among a list of NCAA Division I powerhouses for junior center Kristen Phillips of Guilford (NC). Among the schools showing interest in the 6'5 post are Big Ten programs Purdue, Michigan and Minnesota, plus Duke, Georgia, NC State, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas, UNC Charlotte, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.

Phillips, who transferred this summer from Northwest Guilford to High Point Central High, averaged 11 points and eight rebounds as a sophomore, and was named to the adidas Top Ten underclassmen all-star team at the adidas camp this summer. Phillips is also a standout middle hitter for her volleyball team, garnering player-of-the-year awards in that sport.

    List for 2006 Brittney Moore

According to Region Roundball Review, 6'2 junior forward Brittney Moore has a list that includes Duke, Purdue, Kansas State and Notre Dame, as well as from Ball State, DePaul, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan and Valparaiso.

    Howell and Harris honored

Purdue commitments Jodi Howell and Amber Harris were both named to the 2004 Tremendous 26 team, a preseason honor team hosted by The Indiana High School Basketball Guide.

Wisconsin adds a center for 2005

Wisconsin received their second commitment for the class of 2005 when 6'4 Caitlin Gibson of Jefferson (WI) accepted a scholarship offer. Gibson averaged 15.7 points and 10 rebounds last season. She plans to officially sign during the early signing period in November.

    LaToya Bullard picks Florida

Senior guard LaToya Bullard has chosen to play for former Purdue coach Carolyn Peck at the University of Florida. Bullard had Purdue on her list early, but it disappeared following Purdue's focus on post players and Bullard's focus on southern programs. Bullard chose Florida over Georgia, Memphis and West Virginia.

Bullard's high school teammate Jessica Jackson verballed to Florida a month ago.
