Charlotte Christian takes their 22-5 record into the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association tournament Thursday morning, where they earned the No. 1 seed by defeating conference rival Providence Country Day (24-3) this past Saturday.

Natasha Bogdanova led all scorers with 25 points in the triple overtime victory. The win bumped Providence Day out of a tie for first place in the conference, and into a No. 2 seed in the tournament. The two teams could meet again in the state finals on Saturday.

Charlotte Christian and Providence Day met again very recently, back on February 10. Christian won that game also, 55-47. Bogdanova had 11 points and nine boards.

Bogdanova is averaging 17.8 points and 8.8 rebounds, and shoots 43-percent from the field and 77-percent at the foul line.

The NCISAA Tournament will be held over three days beginning Thursday, February 26. Charlotte Christian (22-5) will play a 10:00am game against Charlotte Country Day (15-8). A victory will put them against the winner of the Cardinal Gibbons (26-3) / Bishop McGuinness (24-7) game on Friday the 27th at 4:00pm. Then on to a potential rematch with Providence Day on Saturday at 6:00pm in the finals.

Providence Day, recently ranked at No. 2 in the state before Christian beat them last weekend, is expected to cruise through their bracket. The opponents in the No. 2 seed bracket have a combined record of 63-30 (.676). The opponents in Charlotte Christian's bracket have a combined record of 65-18 (.783).
