    Rumblings

Lowell Grissom, a 6'7 forward formerly of Fort Wayne, enrolled over the summer at Verbum Dei, a college preparatory school in Los Angeles, CA. Rumblings are that something could be in the works that might get Grissom back to Indiana and into a Purdue uniform next season. He currently averages in double figures for Verbum Dei, around 10 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks per game.

    IHSAA leader board

Several Purdue prospects are represented on the recently released list of the state's top scorers and rebounders. Lafayette area prospect Jordan Brewer ranks 11th in scoring with a 24.7 points per game average, and 10th in rebounding with 10.5 per game. The state scoring leader is George Hill of Broad Ripple with 36.4 points per game. Other prospects among the top scorers include Luke Zeller (20.7) and Dominic James (20.6). Zeller is also on the rebounding leader list for averaging 9.1 rebounds per game, along with sophomore Greg Oden (8.2) and junior Jordan Armstrong (8.0).

    Ramblings

Vincennes head coach Dan Sparks on Carl Landry's performance in the final game of the Valley of the Sun Classic..."The way Mesa was hanging on him, I thought he was a tree. But Carl's strong enough that he could still get the ball and finish. He was a force."
