The Sporting News had a couple a names listed recently in an article on some players making noise this year and greatly improving their stock with Division I programs. Purdue has been taking a look at Bakerfield CC's Brandon Kurtz as a possibility if Purdue needs to sign yet another big man in during the spring signing period. Here's what the Sporting News has to say about Kurtz...
Brandon Kurtz, -- a 6-10 insider from Bakersfield (Cal.), was missing from virtually every preseason list, no matter how large. Thus it's staartling that he's now getting serious attention from UCLA, among others! We'll try to provide more details in the future.
Also mentioned was Indianapolis Pike's Isaac Kincaid, who is now getting more attention from major programs due to his great senior season and leadership during Pike's 4A tournament run. Here's what the Sporting News has to say about Kincaid...
Isaac Kincaid, -- a 6-2 wing guard at Indianapolis (Ind.) Pike, has emerged as a strong candidate for Mr. Basketball honors in the Hoosier state. At this writing, 25-1 Pike is in the state semifinals after defeating nationally ranked Anderson High. Kincaid contributed 23 points and four steals in that game, and his season's average is over 18 ppg.
The Sporting News now considers both Kurtz and Kincaid Top100 players among the senior class.
